LOWER DANUBE. Uncertain tribe. Circa 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 3.89 g), imitating Alexander III of Macedon. Celticized head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Celticized Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, forepart of a lion; to right, imitative legend. Dembski 1457 var. Lanz -. Lukanc Taf. 2, 20-1. OTA 574/2. Struck from the usual worn obverse die, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
